Wallpaper Gallery: K-ON! (OPs and EDs)
This month’s wallpaper gallery brings you a range of images taken from some of the opening and ending sequences of K-ON!. Specifically, I’ve gone through Cagayake! Girls and Don’t Say Lazy from season one, and Go! Go! Maniac and Listen!! from season two. I’m sure I’ll add wallpapers from Utauyo! Miracle and No, Thank You once I’ve got the appropriate source material, but for now you can check out the first four.
Wallpapers: K-ON! (Official Band Yarouyo ver.)
I was looking around for new wallpapers tonight when I came across the cover to the K-ON! Official Band Yarouyo CD. I loved the stark design and use of colour but the scanned image wasn’t really clean enough to use as any sort of wallpaper, nor is the layout necessarily ideal. Of course that’s no reason to give up on it, so I took to Photoshop, pulled the image apart, cleaned up and edited the pieces and put it all back together again to create wallpapers in a variety of shapes and sizes for use on desktops, iPhone, iPad and PS3. I’m really pleased with how it turned out! Of course, between these four versions you’ll probably find one that’s suited to just about any device you have in mind, so those labels are more like suggestions based on what I had in mind when I adjusted the layout. I’m more than happy for you to share these, but as I haven’t put any watermarks on these – I don’t like watermarks on wallpapers – I’d appreciate it if you gave credit and linked back here. Enjoy!
Wallpapers: Evangelion 2.22 – You Can (Not Advance)
This month’s wallpaper gallery features 166 high definition screenshots from Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance, including plenty of Asuka and her Eva Unit-02 to make up for her (necessary) absence from my Evangelion 1.11 gallery. To make this large gallery a bit easier to digest, it’s split into three sections in chronological order:
My Current Wallpapers: Black★Rock Shooter
For some reason – maybe it’s anticipation for the upcoming OVA or 1/8 scale figure – I’ve let Black Rock Shooter take over my wallpapers. If you’re looking forward to the aforementioned releases like I am (or just love Huke‘s cool character design, like I also do) then you might enjoy this set of wallpapers suitable for desktop, iPhone and probably plenty of other devices too. Wallpapers: Evangelion 1.11 – You Are (Not) Alone
Following the success of last month’s gallery of 5 Centimetres Per Second wallpapers, I’m hoping to make larger wallpaper galleries a monthly feature. The concept is simple: from a high definition source, an entire movie or series can be mined for images at a resolution suitable for many desktops. This month, I’ve quite thoroughly run through Evangelion 1.11: You Are (Not) Alone to bring you 165 wallpapers!
Wallpapers: 5 Centimetres Per Second
My previous wallpaper posts have been about showing and sharing with you what is on my own desktop at the time. I’ll still be doing those, but I’ve decided to start something a little different as well: full wallpaper galleries. To kick things off in a pretty big way, I present you with thirty-nine wallpapers captured directly from Makoto Shinkai’s 5 Centimetres Per Second, one of my favourite movies.

Haruhi’s reign over my iPhone unlock screen ended a couple of weeks ago at the hands of Hitagi Senjougahara from Bakemonogatari, and now that she’s made her way to my desktop as well I figured it was time to share.

Haruhi Suzumiya has managed to stay on my desktop for a couple of months now, so I figured it was time for a change. I’m watching K-ON! at the moment and managed to find this great iPod-commercial-inspired wallpaper of Yui Hirasawa. The original had a pink colour scheme which I wasn’t too fond of, but … Read more
Wallpapers: December 6, 2009
Continuing to keep my iPhone and MacBook Pro in sync following last month’s Eva theme, Haruhi Suzumiya has taken over my wallpapers. It proved more difficult than I’d have thought to find images that I wanted to use, though I think I had a specific look in mind which narrowed down the possibilities. I like … Read more
