Figure: Kodama (Princess Mononoke)
I picked up one of these kodamas from Princess Mononoke while I was in Japan earlier this year, and always wanted to get another to go with it. There are three different poses in the set; I had the standing one, and wanted the sitting one but never saw it available in a store (the third is a walking pose, which is nice but I think the other two make for a better pair). For some reason I never thought to look them up online when I got home, but stumbled upon them while looking for other Studio Ghibli merchandise and ordered right away. He arrived today with the rest of my order (which I’ll get to in another post), and they certainly make a good pair!
They do glow in the dark, and even in light have a sort of glow about them thanks to their colouring.
The standing kodama actually required some repairs after suffering a small bump. Can you tell where?
