Figures: Kaiyodo Eva Series
This is a great set of Evangelion figures from Kaiyodo. They’re large at around 7″, excellently sculpted and stunningly coloured with a metallic finish. Each figure comes with a solid range of extras, including alternate hands and weapons (which can be used with any of the other Evas) which makes for quite an expansive set once you’ve collected a few of the figures. Unit 03 comes with various accessories for depicting it in it’s bestial Angel form, which allows for some great poses.
Articulation is reasonably good and increases with each successive figure in the series; it’s nothing compared to something like a Revoltech or Robot Damashii figure but perhaps that’s due to the age of this series (they were released around 2003). In any case, sculptor Katsuhisa Yamaguchi did an excellent job of faithfully recreating the beloved mechs, and if you can track any of these down they’d make an excellent addition to any Eva fan’s collection. The original yellow Eva-00 and an Eva-04 are also available in the same series, though personally the ones I have are the only ones I want at this stage.
